Taqsim Exploration and Tools
“The Art of Taqsim” (All Levels) Taqsim is the instrumental improvisation usually executed as a solo as one musical tool in Arabic Music. Working with deep muscle work, musicality, circles, passion and emotion!! Taqsim has no real counts or specific rhythm so we are following the flow of the instruments “the soul” or melody also will study the underlying rhythm of particular taqsim’s. In this class you will learn many different tools, characteristics and movements for Taqsim. As well as instrument study, personal exploration and self trust! I’d like to see you be open to really listening to the music and letting it sink in, allowing yourself to react and letting the music move you. With Taqsim we don’t plan our movement we improvise the way the music is improvised.
