This performance experience is designed for Intermediate Level Dancers who are ready to refine their technique, expand their stage presence, and step into a more expressive level of performance. Inspired by the bold energy of Hakim’s Sha’abi, this dynamic Raqs Assaya (cane) piece celebrates powerful, joyful feminine strength — blending cheeky confidence, playful attitude, and commanding stage presence. Expect strength, sass, joy, and undeniable presence as you bring your hips & the cane to life! SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS 📅 Detailed rehearsal calendars are available on the JBelly Collective Information Page. 📍 Rehearsals take place via Zoom, Ripley-Grier Studios, Gibney Dance, and The Loft New York. Google Calendar and our private WhatsApp group will be used for all schedules and communication. TUITION Pay in Full: $300 (Save $30) *available till Oct 1st 3-Payment Plan: $330 * Registration: $110 * Dec. 15: $110 * Jan. 15: $110 Learning Track (No Showcase): $275 Train alongside the cast without performing in the theater production. Includes all rehearsals and instruction, but excludes costume, theater week, and showcase participation. Assaya (Cane) Requirement:  → If you have a JBelly Assaya Cane from a previous season, you may use it for this performance.
→ If you need a cane, please add one to your registration for $20 and Janelle will prepare one for you. YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES • Weekly guided choreography & performance coaching • 21+ hours of rehearsal and training • Rehearsal recordings & practice materials • Google Calendar & WhatsApp communication • Professional showcase performance opportunity COSTUME Costumes are purchased separately from tuition. Our goal is to create a beautiful stage-ready look while keeping the costume investment under $60 for this performance piece. Costume payment is due December 3rd. ATTENDANCE Occasional missed rehearsals are permitted. Rehearsal recordings are provided, and dancers are responsible for learning any missed material independently.
