Join the stage for JBelly Nights—an intimate, gig-style bellydance experience where artistry, connection & entertainment come together. Unlike a traditional staged recital, JBelly Nights is inspired by the spirit of a classic hafla. Dancers perform throughout the venue, interacting with the audience and creating an immersive evening filled with movement, music & celebration. Whether you're preparing for your very first gig or simply looking for a fun, supportive opportunity to share your dancing, JBelly Nights is your chance to step into the spotlight, connect with the community & shine! -------- WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: dancers who are committed to their training and excited to share their artistry with an audience! To participate, you'll need to: • Be actively training with JBelly's School of RAQ through our weekly classes • If you're new to the school, simply register for upcoming classes and begin training consistently • Submit your performance music for approval no later than Sept 10 (earlier is encouraged!) • Include a short video of you dancing (a link or upload a video from class, a show, home practice) in your registration • Professional costuming. If you need help finding, borrowing, or renting a costume, we're happy to help! • Cover Up: please be fully covered before and after your performance to preserve the magic • Help us spread the word by inviting friends & family! Support the event by selling at least two tickets • Schedule a private coaching session with Janelle or one of our instructors if you'd like additional feedback and polishing before the show (highly encouraged but not required) YOUR PERFORMER EXPERIENCE - Participation: $35 Includes... ✨ Online Zoom Meeting with Janelle to walk through the evening, timeline, performance flow, and answer questions ✨ Professional DJ providing seamless transitions throughout ✨ Live darbuka accompaniment layered over your music for added excitement ✨ September 20 at 5:00 PM (time w/ Janelle) at Secret Room NYC for sound check & performance coaching ✨ Event promotion, organization & production JBelly Nights is all about entertaining the audience. Bring your personality, musicality & confidence to the stage. Props, floor work & audience interaction are welcome.
